During talks in Hanoi on January 29, Mr Khiem and Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasim Bin Jabor Al-Thani whose full titles are the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, focused on measures to boost investment, trade and labour exports between the two countries.

The Qatar delegation on its part expressed interest in large-scale investment in Vietnam.

They said they are keen to expand friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam and believe that bilateral ties will be further strengthened.

During his three-day visit which is due to end on January 30, the first Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

He and his party also met with Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc as well as executives from leading businesses to discuss opportunities to enhance cooperation in the future.
