On September 17, the Egyptian Official Gazette quoted Vietnamese ambassador to Egypt, Pham Sy Tam, saying that Egypt has implemented a visa exemption for official and diplomatic passport holders between the two countries to promote bilateral trade and investment.
According to Mr Tam, two-way trade between the two countries reached US$230 million last year and is expected to increase further in the near future.
He also called on Vietnamese businesses to continue boosting investment cooperation with Egypt to help the North African country reduce poverty and unemployment.
