Vietnam - a reliable destination for foreign investors
(VOV) - Vietnam will join efforts with other ASEAN member countries to stabilise the regional economies, overcome current difficulties, and build an ASEAN Economic Community by 2015, says Deputy Finance Minister Truong Chi Trung.
Reporter: The AFMIS has been held annually, attracting a lot of investors from across the world. What about the outcome of this seminar?
Mr Trung: The AFMIS is a prestigious event of ASEAN’s financial cooperation channel, aimed at promoting ASEAN as an attractive destination for the international community.
With the cumulative Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of nearly US$2 trillion and a population of 600 million, ASEAN has huge potential for sustainable economic development. In the context of current regional and global economic difficulties, the seminar is considered a chance for investors to question ASEAN’s law makers. Investors and business associations will get updated on the financial and investment policy of each ASEAN member country and the sustainable development goals of ASEAN economies.
AFMIS 9 called on the international financial and business community to get directly involved in ASEAN’s development opportunities.

Vietnam’s stable macroeconomic environment, modest growth, and efficient economic restructuring are making the country become a reliable destination for foreign investors.
In addition, the clear and accurate information released by the Vietnamese delegation during discussions and dialogues has provided investors with an overview of the country’s socio-economic situation to plan future investments in Vietnam. They seem to be convinced by Vietnam’s long-term economic potential.
