Vietnam and Mexico should boost cooperation in all areas to a higher level to match the current development of political relations between the two nations, Vice State President Truong My Hoa said at a meeting with visiting Mexican senators in Hanoi, on May 7.

The Vice President's guests include Carlos Jimenez Macias, Head of the Asia-Pacific Committee and Rosario Green Macias, Head of the Committee for External Relations, for the Mexican Senate.

The Vietnamese leader told the senators that Vietnam appreciated Mexico 's support for the country’s recent entry to the World Trade Organisation and current bidding for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2008-09 term.

In the morning, Mexican officials from the Senate's external relations committee held talks with counterparts from the Vietnam National Assembly Committee for External Affairs.

They also had working sessions with leaders from the Ministry of Trade and Agriculture and Rural Development.
