A visiting delegation of officials and businessmen from Belgium’s Flamand region toured central Da Nang city on May 9.
The delegation, led by Fientje Moerman, Vice President of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Economy, Enterprise, Science, Innovation and Foreign Trade, is on a fact-finding mission to Vietnam.
F. Moerman said that Belgium is home to five high quality universities, and is willing to aid Da Nang in the areas of information technology (IT), shipping and the training of medical and scientific personnel.
The Deputy Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Chinh, spoke of the city's socio-economic developments over the last decade and pointed to its geographic location on the East-West corridor as a springboard for tremendous economic development.
