Vice President meets Lao NA leader
(VOV) -Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan suggested the Lao National Assembly to revamp mechanisms and legal policies aimed at promoting Vietnamese investments in Laos while meeting with NA Vice Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane on October 16.
Both host and guest confirmed that the two countries always give the top priority to constantly consolidating and strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, considering this an invaluable asset vital to the revolutionary cause of Vietnam and Laos.
The two sides agreed to intensify high-level exchange visits including those between NA leaders, strengthen cooperation between the two legislative bodies in supervising and creating favorable legal conditions for the implementation of investment cooperation projects, exchange legislative experience and work hand in hand at regional and international parliamentary forums.
They expressed their delight at growing bilateral ties across various fields, including close co-ordination between the two law-making bodies, especially during the recent organisation of regional and international inter-parliamentary events.
Vice President Doan greatly valued the fruitful outcomes of Lao NA Chairwoman Pany Yathotu’s visit to Vietnam for the 132 nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) in late March and early April this year.
The Vietnamese Vice President asked the Lao NA to consider creating the best possible conditions for Vietnamese community to apply for Laos citizenship and permanent resident permits.
She hailed the role that the Lao NA plays in the country’s construction, development and law-building. She also expressed her conviction that the Lao people would fulfill all targets set at the ninth Party Congress and successfully organise the 10th congress in 2016.
The same day, she laid a wreath at the monument of unknown martyrs in Vientiane and visited the school for gifted and ethnic minority pupils, a present from the Vietnamese Government that entered operation in 2007 with nearly 500 students, and a vocational training centre for women with disabilities.
