The fourth conference of the VFF Central Committee was held in HCM City on January 11 in the presence of State President Truong Tan Sang, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai and Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Mass Mobilization Commission Ha Thi Khiet.

Addressing the conference, President Sang praised the Front’s achievements over the year, while asking it to improve the quality of introducing Party and State guidelines and policies to the people and to promote the “Study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” campaign.

In 2011, the VFF’s efforts contributed to the success of the 11^th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 13^th National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels for the 2011-2016 term, and the “Study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” campaign which received positive response from the entire population.

Apart from reinforcing the great national unity bloc, and promoting emulation movements, the VFF launched campaigns far and wide with practical activities such as building a cultured lifestyle in residential areas, encouraging Vietnamese people to use Vietnamese goods, and enhancing people-to-people ties to strengthen Vietnam’s friendship with countries around the world.

It is worth noting that over the past year, the fatherland fronts of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam coordinated to organize their first common conference and signed a cooperative programme for the new period.
