VFF Central Committee Vice President Nguyen Van Pha said this at a reception for the President of Venezuela’s National Assembly, Fernando Soto Rojas, in Hanoi on November 1.

The Venezuelan NA leader expressed his admiration for late President Ho Chi Minh, as well as General Vo Nguyen Giap, who contributed greatly to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause. President Rojas praised Vietnam’s achievements during its process of national construction and development, saying he hoped the ties of solidarity and friendship between the two countries will grow and flourish in the future.

For his part, Mr Pha reviewed the VFF’s major activities during the development process, adding that in the current period of Doi Moi (Renewal), the VFF has contributed significantly to building the administration, supervising the activities of State agencies, and holding patriotic emulation movements as well as promoting the Party and State’s diplomatic activities.

The same day, the Venezuelan NA delegation worked with the Vietnamese NA Ethnicity Council and the NA Committee for Social Affairs.

The Chairman of the NA Ethnicity Council, K’sor Phuoc, spoke highly of the Venezuelan delegation’s visit as contributing to the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Mr Phuoc briefed the delegation on his council’s activities and Vietnam’s national policies while expressing his hope that the two legislative bodies will promote bilateral cooperation and share experiences to ensure people’s legal rights and interests.

The Ethnicity Council will send a delegation to study law making, legal documents and the national policies of Venezuela and other Latin American nations, Mr Phuoc said.

Head of the NA Committee for Social Affairs, Truong Thi Mai, provided the delegation with information about the committee’s functions and tasks and Vietnam’s achievements related to the population, healthcare and other social issues.

NA leader Rojas said he admires and praises Vietnam’s tremendous achievements in politics, diplomacy, economics and social affairs, while affirming he will do his best to further strengthen relations between the two national assemblies.
