In a report delivered at the event, VFF Central Committee President Huynh Dam said that between January and June, the organisation focused on strengthening the bloc of great national unity through the launch of exemplary role model campaigns to support national socio-economic development.
It raised VND25 billion and built nearly 2,000 houses for poor households, primarily in the country’s 61 poorest districts.
In the remaining six months of the year, he said, the VFF will continue to encourage people to join hands with the Party and State to prevent an economic slowdown and build strong and healthy Party organisations and administrations at grassroots level.
Delegates discussed issues to be considered at the upcoming 7th VFF congress scheduled for September 28-30, 2009 in Hanoi.
