VFF President receives Cambodian NA leader
President of the Cambodian National Assembly Heng Samrin’s visit to Vietnam is of great significance and will strengthen the time-honoured relationship and cooperation between the two nations.
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Huynh Dam said this while receiving the top Cambodian legislator and President of the Solidarity Front for Development of the Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) Heng Samrin in Hanoi on July 23.
The VFF has always paid attention to Cambodia’s development and achievements and both fronts have signed a series of cooperation programmes to reinforce the solidarity between the two peoples, Mr Dam said.

He also declared that he hopes the cooperation and attachment between the two fronts will continue to be enhanced in the future to elevate the traditional Vietnam-Cambodia traditional relationship to a higher level.
President Heng Samrin expressed his deep gratitude to Vietnam for assisting Cambodia during its national liberation and for helping Cambodian people escape from the genocidal Pol Pot regime, in addition to supporting Cambodia’s national reconciliation, reconstruction and defence.
He highlighted the crucial role the SFDCM plays in uniting the nation and encouraging the people to build a prosperous Cambodia for peace and development.
The SFDCM will join hands with the Party, State, NA and people of Cambodia to promote the development of Vietnam-Cambodia relations, President Samrin said.

On the occasion, Mr Dam presented President Heng Samrin a bronze plaque featuring a map of Vietnam.
