The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, Huynh Dam, received a delegation of the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee led by its president Geetesh Sharma in Hanoi on January 7.

Mr Dam congratulated India on its rapid development in recent times and expressed his belief that the country will continue to play its important role in maintaining global peace and strengthening cooperation with other countries.

After briefing the Indian guests on VFF operation, Mr Dam stressed that the organisation not only unites all patriotic Vietnamese citizens but also strengthens solidarity and friendship with international friends.

He said he hopes that the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee will assist VFF to expand exchanges and cooperation with the Indian government and people.

President Geetesh Sharma noted that both India and Vietnam share many cultural similarities and that India wants to promote cooperation with Vietnam, especially in culture, journalism and communications.

The Indian delegation has been in Vietnam to attend an international conference to introduce the Vietnamese literature to the world.
