The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) always attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC).

VFF President Huynh Dam said this on October 25 in Hanoi at a reception for the LFNC delegation led by its President Phandouangchit Vongsa.

Mr Vongsa reviewed the LFNC’s major activities over the past few years and highlighted difficulties facing the Front as hostile forces took advantage of religious and belief issues to split the bloc of national unity. Therefore, the LFNC must be further reinforced and developed, he said.

The LFNC President expressed his desire to continue receiving support and cooperation in various fields from the VFF Central Committee, especially in training personnel.

Mr Huynh Dam said that the VFF values its cooperation with the LFNC and is accelerating the implementation of their bilateral cooperation agreement signed in 2007.

The LFNC delegation’s visit to Vietnam will help boost cooperation between the two Fronts, as well as solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the future.

At the meeting, both sides agreed to promote cooperation between the two Fronts and all three Indochinese countries, and organize a conference of the Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laos National Fronts in November.

They also agreed to coordinate in celebratory activities for the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and hold an international conference on building a Vietnam-Laos border of peace and friendship in 2012.
