The Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD) Party of Tunisia wants to strengthen friendly and cooperative ties between the Parties, States and people of Tunisia and Vietnam, said Hager Cherif, RCD Deputy General Secretary.

During a meeting with Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), in Hanoi on April 21, Mrs Cherif spoke highly of Vietnam’s achievements during the renewal process, as well as its efforts to minimise the negative impact of the current global economic crisis.

She expressed her belief that under the leadership of the CPV, Vietnamese people will make greater achievements in national construction and defence, thereby elevating the country’s role and position in the world. She also briefed her host on the RCD Party and the situation in Tunisia and North Africa.

For his part, Mr Sang praised the achievements the RCD Party and Tunisian people have made since the African country launched its reform process in 1987. He informed his guest of Vietnam’s Renewal process, its recent socio-economic development, and major tasks Vietnam plans to fulfil in the coming years.

Earlier, the Tunisian official held talks with Phung Huu Phu, member of the CPVCC and Deputy Head of the CPVCC’s Information and Education Commission.
