The Vietnam Naval Force handed over 21 pieces of coral stones taken from the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago to the northern province of Ninh Binh on July 12.

The move aimed to reiterate Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Truong Sa archipelago. It also helped raise the patriotic spirit of Vietnamese generations, encourages them to protect the nation and provided them with a great source of pride.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Navy Chief, Vice-Admiral Lieutenant-General Nguyen Van Hien, emphasized that the coral stones from the Truong Sa archipelago is a symbol of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the sea and islands.

Vietnamese soldiers and officers are making great efforts to ensure the peace and stability of the nation’s sea and islands, he said.

The Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People’s Committee expressed good sentiments towards the soldiers and people on Truong Sa and vowed to join efforts to protect national sovereignty.

On the occasion, Ninh Binh province presented gifts and provided financial assistance for naval soldiers and families of martyrs in the Truong Sa archipelago.
