Sen. Lieut. Gen. Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received a delegation from the Royal Thai Navy led by Admiral Surasak Rounroengrom in Hanoi on July 25.

Ty noted new developments in the cooperation between the two naval forces, through the exchange of delegations and personnel training.

He suggested that the two sides expand their ties, particularly in exchange of information, delegations and coordination in rescue and search at sea.

Surasak Rounroengrom, who visits Vietnam for the first time as Commander of the Thai Navy, said he will do his best to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two countries and two armies in particular.

He asked the Vietnamese Defence Ministry and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army to continue to facilitate cooperation between the two navies.
