Ambassador Vuong Hai Nam reviewed Vietnam’s major socio-economic achievements in 2009 despite the global economic turmoil and reaffirmed the Party and State’s policy of creating the best possible conditions for Vietnamese nationals to live, work and study abroad.

Neil Quigley, Chairman of the New Zealand-Vietnam Friendship Society, extended Tet Greetings to Vietnamese participants and vowed to do his utmost to promote bilateral friendship and cooperation, especially in education.

Vietnamese Embassy staff in Kuwait wrapped Banh Chung (a traditional Tet cake) and hosted celebrations for representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country.

On New Year’s Eve, they all sat in front of the television, listening to the State President’s Greetings and watching a firework display through VTV4.

Ambassador Nguyen Danh Sao reviewed Vietnam’s major developments in 2009 and called on the community to continue to unite and turn their hearts to the homeland.
