Vietnam and Tatarstan boast great potential for cooperation in various fields, said the Republic of Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Vietnam’s Ambassador to Russia Bui Dinh Dinh and other diplomats visited the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation from September 27-29 to boost cooperation with Russia in general and its republic states, especially Tatarstan.

During his visit, Mr Dinh met with President Rustam Minnikhanov and, leaders from different ministries and sectors and economic groups to discuss ways of boosting cooperation in fields of common concern while highlighting the achievements in socio-economic development that Tatarstan has recorded in recent years.

Mr Dinh briefed them on Vietnam’s investment and business environment, its political stability as well as achievements made during the renewal period and asked Tatarstan’s leaders to create the best possible conditions for Vietnamese businesses.

President Rustam praised Vietnam’s political status in the International arena and its economic development in recent years and said that Tatarstan is highly developed in science and has trained many Vietnamese students. He expressed hope that both sides will boost cooperation in Tatarstan’s key industries such as oil exploitation, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding and processing industry.

During his stay, Mr Dinh also visited the Vietnamese community in Kazan City and informed them of Vietnam’s current situation as well, telling them about the Party and State’s policies for overseas Vietnamese.

He encouraged them to live in harmony and make practical contributions to their new country of residence.
