The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mizengo Peter Pinda, began a three-day official visit to Vietnam on March 29 at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The visit, the first by PM Pinda since he took office in 2008, aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Vietnam and Tanzania.

PM Pinda is accompanied by Tanzanian Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperation Stephen Wasira, Ambassador and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Iddi Seif, Ambassador to China cum Vietnam Khalid Salum Mohamed and other senior officials.

Vietnam and Tanzania established diplomatic ties in 1965.
