Tanzania places importance on friendly and co-operative ties with Vietnam

VOV.VN - Tanzanian President Samia affirmed her nation’s recognition of the importance of friendly and co-operative ties between Vietnam and Tanzania at a recent reception given to Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania Vu Thanh Huyen, who came to present her credentials to President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Tanzanian Presidential Palace in Dar es Salaam.

At a reception held following the presentation of the Letter of Credence, Ambassador Huyen conveyed the regards and best wishes of General Secretary and President To Lam to President Hassan, the Government and people of Tanzania, along with an invitation for the Tanzanian President to visit Vietnam soon.

Expressing her joy and honor at being appointed as Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania, the diplomat affirmed that she will do her best to expand and deepen the friendship and all-around co-operation that exists, as well as enhance mutual understanding and traditional friendship between the two countries.

She outlined her hopes at receiving active support from the President and Government of Tanzania during her term of office.

President Hassan congratulated Ambassador Huyen on her appointment to Tanzania and sent her best wishes to General Secretary and President To Lam, as well as the Government and people of Vietnam.

The Tanzanian leader asked the Vietnamese Ambassador to convey her invitation to General Secretary and President of Vietnam To Lam to visit the East African country soon in a bid to further strengthen the traditional, friendly, and co-operative relations, especially amid the two countries moving towards the 60th anniversary of both nations’ diplomatic ties in 2025.

The President hailed the good co-operation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, and trade.

She expressed her wish to visit Vietnam soon and admired the country’s achievements, while emphasising that Tanzania hopes to learn from and co-operate with the nation in areas of strength such as agriculture, green economy, tourism, information technology, and communications.

She pledged to work with the Tanzanian Government to offer favourable conditions for Ambassador Huyen to successfully fulfill her assigned tasks.
