Sudan hopes to learn from Vietnam’s experience in national construction and development, said Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmad.

President Al-Bashir said this while receiving the Prime Minister’s special envoy Doan Xuan Hung on June 23.

During the reception, he highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in its struggle for national liberation as well as in its current process of national construction. He also appreciated Vietnam’s support for Sudan in international forums and hoped Vietnam will continue to back his country.

The Sudanese President pledged to create incentive for Vietnamese businesses to invest in Sudan in all fields, especially oil and communications. Mr. Al-Bashir suggested opening a Vietnamese embassy in Sudan to strengthen ties between the two countries.

Mr. Son, who is also Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, passed on PM Nguyen Tan Dung’s letter to the President and reported on the results of his working sessions with Sudanese senior officials.

He asked President Al-Bashir to create better conditions for Vietnamese business to cooperate with Sudanese partners in agriculture, oil, and communications.

Deputy Minsiter Hung had previously worked with the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture and the Sudanese Business Association.
