The Vietnamese subcommittee of the Steering Committee for Vietnam-China Cooperation (SCVCC) convened in Hanoi on March 6 to prepare for the second meeting of the SCVCC scheduled for October.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Steering Committee for Vietnam-China Cooperation Pham Gia Khiem.
Deputy PM Khiem gave concrete guidance on matters to be discussed at the second meeting, emphasizing on measures to speed up the implementation of economic and trade agreements signed between the two countries during Chinese Party General Secretary and State President Hu Jintao's visit to Vietnam last October.
The Deputy PM also highlighted measures to fulfill the demarcation and planting of border-markers along the common border by the end of 2008 as agreed by senior leaders of the two nations.
