State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan received a delegation of heroic Vietnamese mothers and others who had served Dak Nong province to mark the anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

At the reception in Hanoi on August 15, Ms Doan recalled the traditional bravery the residents of the Central Highlands have shown in the struggle for national liberation.

Vice President Doan said that the people in this region have suffered many tragic effects from Agent Orange and their living conditions are currently very difficult. She expressed pride in the sacrifices of the heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers, and war veterans who defeated hostile forces, and promised that future generations will never forget their deeds.

Ms Doan also said she hoped that, with their faith in the Party and late President Ho Chi Minh, as well as their love for the nation, the heroic mothers, wounded soldiers and others who served Dak Nong province, will continue to set a shining example for future generations and help build a strong and prosperous Central Highland region.
