While receiving new RMIT President Merilyn Liddell in Hanoi on July 24, Mr Triet welcomed the university’s development plans in Vietnam and noted that RMIT is one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country.
He said that the number of Vietnamese students wishing to study abroad is increasing, therefore, RMIT University not only opens up opportunities for students to access internationally-recognised academic programmes but also helps them save tuition fees.
The State President said that Vietnam encourages more leading Australian institutions to run courses in the country.
Professor Lioddel briefed Mr Triet on the expansion of the Saigon South campus in HCM City and plans to provide graduate and research degree programmes to meet the increasing demand of local students.
According to Liddell, local students can save up to two-thirds of tuition fees in comparison with studying in Australia. Her university will also increase more scholarships for Vietnamese students in Australia.
