State President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Minh Triet will visit China from May 15-18 at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visit aims to boost the ties of friendship, neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation as well as mutual trust between Vietnam and China.


The two sides will discuss orientations to boost cooperation in all fields and bring the relationship between the two countries to a new level of development.


During the stay in China, President Triet will hold talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Chairman of the Chinese National People’s Congress Wu Bangquo and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Jia Qinglin.


From Beijing, President Triet will visit some other localities in China.
