President Triet affirmed the Party and State’s recognition of the mass media’s role and power in the cause of national defence and construction.
The “Press is not only a bridge between the Party, State and people but provides fresh news and analysis of what is happening in the country, keeping the general public updated on domestic and world developments in the right direction,” he emphasised.
The “Press is responsible for discovering and reporting instantly good deeds and successful examples and models in production as well as bringing to light negative cases such as corruption and wastefulness. The press has also been a tough fighter against social evils and hostile forces’ schemes and distortions,” Mr Triet concluded.
The National Press Prix, the third of its kind so far, distinguished 52 works in total, including 12 B prizes, 37 C prizes and 28 consolation prizes out of 977 entries.
