At a reception for Uruguayan ambassador Carlos Maria, Mr Sang affirmed that Vietnam will create favourable conditions for him to fulfill his tasks in the country.

He thanked the South American country for helping Vietnam in its past struggles and during the present national construction. He said he was pleased with the fine relations between Vietnam and Uruguay, laying a firm foundation for promoting bilateral cooperation in all fields.

He thanked Ambassador Maria for the Uruguayan President’s invitation to visit the country and said the visit will be arranged though diplomatic channels.

President Sang also invited his Uruguayan counterpart to visit Vietnam.

While receiving Indonesian Ambassador Mayerfas, President Sang congratulated Indonesia on its recent achievements and highlighted the multifaceted bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia, particularly as the two countries are building a strategic partnership, which he said will increase two-way trade and boost mutual assistance in international and regional forums.

The State leader asked the ambassador to convey his invitation to Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to visit Vietnam.

Ambassador Mayerfas said he hopes to fulfill his job in Hanoi to contribute to developing the relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam.

He also conveyed President Yudhoyono’s invitation to visit Indonesia to President Sang.

At another meeting with ambassador Thet U from Myanmar, President Sang praised the friendship between the two nations and said Vietnam is eager to help Myanmar during its national development. He also invited his Myanmar counterpart to visit Vietnam.

Ambassador Thet U said he will try his best during his term of office to boost political, economic, and trade ties with Vietnam.

At a reception for Brazilian Ambassador Victoria Alice Clearver, President Sang said Vietnam is willing to support Brazil in becoming a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council if it is expanded.

Mr Sang highly valued Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva’s visit to Vietnam in 2008 and said that two-way trade in 2011 reached US$1.5 billion, but that is far from meeting its full potential.

Ambassador Clearver proposed that the two countries develop their bilateral as well as multilateral relations.

Welcoming Bolivian ambassador Gullermo Chalup Liendo, President Sang thanked the country for supporting Vietnam in joining the World Trade Organisation in 2007.

The Bolivian diplomat also conveyed his country’s President Evo Morales’ invitation for President Sang to visit Bolivia.
