The State President’s Office on April 20 announced new laws on human trafficking prevention and control, independent auditing, amendments and supplements to some articles in the Civil Procedure Code and a resolution on the law enforcement of the Civil Procedure Code.

The Law on the Prevention and Control of Human Trafficking, consisting of 8 chapters and 58 articles, clarifies regulations on the prevention and control of human trafficking, State policy for this field and the combination between crime and social scourge control programmes and socio-economic development programmes.

It also stipulates issues related to detection, dealing with violations, supporting victims as well as the responsibility of the Government, ministries, sectors and localities for the prevention and control of human trafficking.

The Law on Amendments and Supplements to some Articles in the Civil Procedure Code regulates the jurisdiction of the court and those involved in legal procedures.

The Law on Independent Auditing, with 8 chapters and 64 articles, stipulates principles, conditions, operational scope and form of independent auditing as well as rights and obligations of auditors, auditing businesses, foreign auditing branches in Vietnam, and auditing agencies.

The law also specifies the auditing of units related to public interests, handling violations and disputes over independent auditing.

All the three laws will come into force as of January 1 next year.
