State President meets with former Youth Union cardes
On August 22, State President Nguyen Minh Triet attended a get together of former cadres from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) at the National Assembly Office in Hanoi.
The meeting marked the 65th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
Present at the event were Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for Foreign Relations, Tran Dinh Dan, Head of the National Assembly Office, Tran Van Tuan, Minister of Home Affairs, Nguyen Khanh, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Vo Van Thuong, First Secretary of the HCYU, along with 300 former cardres from the HCYU.

As a former cardres of the HCYU, President Triet praised the former carders for having actively engaged in Youth Union activities during different periods.
He said that the meeting provided an excellent opportunity for the younger generation to show their determination to follow their predecessors’ footsteps and contribute further to the cause of national defence and construction.
