The National Assembly (NA) has always listened to voters’ opinions and worked with a high sense of responsibility before making any decisions, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

Mr Triet made the affirmation while meeting with voters of Ho Chi Minh City ’s District 1 and District 2 on June 24.

He said that the NA will further renovate its activities and enhance its role and responsibility for voters across the country.

Voters of the two districts showed their contentment with the NA’s suspended approval of the North-South express railway project as well as its request for further study of the Hanoi master plan, and its opinions on forest land allocation and leasing and public debt.

They also expressed their wish that the NA continues to strengthen its oversight and improve the settlement of voters’ petitions, thereby ensuring their legitimate rights and interests.

President Triet pledged to work together with the Ho Chi Minh City delegation of NA deputies to gather voters’ suggestions and opinions and report them to the NA.

Sharing concerns of voters of District 2 regarding the Thu Thiem new urban area and suspended projects which have influenced people’s living conditions, President Triet asked the municipal and district authorities to meet with voters and seek appropriate solutions to the problems.
