State President Truong Tan Sang arrived in Manila, the Philippines, to begin his official visit to the country on October 26.

President Sang was welcomed at the airport by Philippines Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Alberto F.del Rosario; Secretary of Agriculture, Proceso Alcala; the Vietnamese ambassador to the Philippines, Nguyen Vu Tu; as well as Vietnamese expatriates residing in the country.

Mr Sang’s visit, made at the invitation of his Philippines counterpart Beningo S. Aquino III, is aimed at boosting multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, in both bilateral and international forums.

Both sides will review their relationship and discuss ways to boost cooperation in economics, trade, investment, national defense, security, education and training, culture, and strengthening bilateral relations.

After the welcome ceremony at the Malacanan Palace, both Presidents will hold talks later the same day.
