Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on August 24 praised the great contributions made by seven former government leaders and officials during the Party’s revolutionary cause and the country’s development and construction.

The Gold Star Order was posthumously awarded to Nguyen Van Tao, former Minister of Labour and head of the Prime Minister’s Home Affairs Office, and the Ho Chi Minh Order to Phan Ke Toai, late Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs.

The Independence Order, Second Class, was posthumously awarded to former Deputy Minister of Light Industry and Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Industry Office Nguyen Van Thao and Nguyen Van Huong, former vice chairman of the Ministers’ Council Office (now the Government Office).

The Third-Class Independence Order was posthumously awarded to Hoang Du, former vice chairman of the Prime Minister’s Office, and Pham Duc Duat, former head of the Department for Aid under the Prime Minister’s Office (now the Government Office). This honour was also awarded to the former vice chairman of the Government Office, Tran Quoc Toan.

Addressing the ceremony, PM Dung praised the great contributions that these politicians and officials had made to the country’s development and to national construction and defence.
