He made the statement at a nation-wide online conference with leaders from 63 provinces and cities to review administrative reform under the Government’s Plan 30.

Phuc praised the ministries of transport, environment and natural resources, construction, home affairs, finance and agriculture and rural development for their efficient work in simplifying administrative procedures.

Provinces and cities such as Lao Cai, Nam Dinh in the north, Thua Thien Hue in the centre, and HCM City, Ben Tre, Tay Ninh, Long An in the south, were singled out by Phuc for the way they have carried out the Government’s reform plan.

However, Phuc said that while the third phase of Plan 30 had officially ended recently, many ministries and state agencies had not yet finished their required tasks.

Minister Phuc emphasized the need to keep the public fully aware of the administrative reform process which is going on to eliminate cumbersome procedures for both individuals and private enterprises.

According to the Administrative Reform Inspection Department, up to June 30, more than 3,000 administrative procedures were proposed for simplification, which represents 63 percent of all procedures. Among those, nearly 2,000 have been approved and have brought direct benefits to enterprises and the public.
