The deputies praised the contributions that State groups and corporations have made to the country’s socio-economic development, especially in stabilising the macro economy, while pointing out their weaknesses in business activities. They asked the Government to adjust State groups and corporations’ operations to ensure the efficiency and development of the State’s capital.

 The deputies underlined the need to deal with issues related to a number of State groups and corporations suffering from prolonged losses and look at restructuring and equitisation State enterprises.

The restructuring and equitising process needs to focus on developing the medium and long-tem capital market to ensure that the State’s capital is not wasted and State enterprises develop on a stable and long-term basis, they emphasised.

Regarding the Lai Chau hydro-electric power plant project and the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant project, they agreed on several plans to develop the country’s power resources and stressed on the need to ensure the safety of these two important projects. Both projects need to protect the environment, introduce new technologies, and ensure investment capital, costs and the developments of human resources.

This week, the deputies will focus on Q&A sessions and respond to questions from voters. As many as 250 questions raised by NA deputies have been collected, including 25 queries to be answered by the Prime Minister. Their questions include about new solutions to effectively implement the second stimulus package, environmental protection, food hygiene and safety, corruption control and practicing thrift.

On November 16, they discussed the draft law on the State Bank of Vietnam (revised) and the Law on credit organisations (revised).
