Vietnam hopes to cooperate with and learn from Spain to develop its young auditing sector to meet international requirements.

State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan stated this goal at a reception in Hanoi on June 28 for President of the Spanish Court of Audit, Manuel Nunez Perez.

The Vice President expressed her delight at the development of the Vietnam-Spain friendship, especially since the two countries’ leaders defined the strategic partnership towards the future.

Mrs. Doan also thanked Spain for supporting Vietnam in its global integration, as well as improving its relationship with the European Union.

Mr. Perez said he is really impressed by the achievement of the State Audit of Vietnam which was founded 16 years ago.

On the same day, the State Audit of Vietnam and the Spanish Court of Audit signed a cooperation agreement to promote bilateral cooperation.

Under the agreement, the two audit agencies will develop joint programmes on professional training and information exchange to improve the standards of auditors.
