The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt held a press conference on April 22 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam.

The conference was attended by representatives from other embassies, Egyptian reporters and those interested in Vietnam. It began with a documentary illustrating the Vietnamese tanks smashing down the gate of the Presidential Palace and the Vietnamese flag flying high on the rooftop of the Saigon puppet regime’s building on April 30, 1975, marking the success of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign.

Ambassador Pham Sy Tam highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in different areas such as economics, politics, trade and tourism since the liberation. He affirmed that Vietnam always opens its doors to foreign businesses to invest in the country.

This was also an occasion for foreign friends to learn more about Vietnam’s historical victory as well as its open policy for investment and cooperation in all fields, said Tam.

On the occasion, the embassy will organize a meeting for overseas officials, residents and students to review the significance of the victory and strengthen the solidarity among the Vietnamese community in Egypt.
