On April 30, NHK Television reported the 35^th anniversary of Southern Liberation in Ho Chi Minh City attended by State President Nguyen Minh Triet, other Party and State leaders and 50,000 HCM City residents. NHK TV channel covered the Secretary of the HCM City Party Organisation, Le Thanh Hai, reviewing the achievements recorded by the people under the CPV leadership during the Doi Moi (Renewal) process.

NHK quoted Mr Hai as saying with an average economic growth rate of 10.5 percent/year, HCM City has become the engine of Vietnam’s economic development.
