Do Thi Kim Lien, General Director of AAA Insurance Company has been appointed by President Jacob Zuma as the first Honorary Consul of South Africa to HCM City.  

At the inauguration ceremony, South African Ambassador to Vietnam Ratubatsi Super Moloi noted that the opening of the office came hot the heels of a recent visit to the city by Johannesburg Mayor, Amos Masondo. This shows Johannesburg’s desire to increase cooperation with HCM City and Vietnam, he said.

He said as HCM City is one of Vietnam’s biggest economic hubs, Ms Lien is tasked to seek and promote opportunities for trade and investment cooperation for South African businesses, and to provide consular services to South African nationals living and working in the city.

Ms Lien vowed to work in the interest of South Africans and boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
