During his five-day stay, Speaker Paska held talks Chairman Trong and met with Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Nguyen Minh Triet and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem.

They all agreed that the two countries should make a greater effort to increase all-round cooperation, share experiences in legislation, and prepare for the signing of a cooperation document between their legislative bodies.

They vowed to create favourable conditions for their goods to penetrate each other’s market as well as larger ASEAN and EU markets.

The leaders also agreed to establish an inter-governmental committee soon to promote bilateral cooperation, and to work closely in regional and international forums.
