Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang met with senior officials from leading Singaporean economic groups, including Sembcorp, CaptiaLand and Keppel, on September 27 as part of his working visit to the country.

President’s visits to Singapore and Malaysia

Sembcorp has already built four industrial zones in Vietnam and Keppel has cooperated with Vietsopetro to set up new oil drilling platforms.

The leaders of the economic groups praised the high potential, efficient investment environment and legal system in Vietnam and affirmed its administrative reforms and support for businesses in cutting their costs. They also pledged to implement their projects in the country effectively.

Mr. Sang stressed Vietnamese leaders always create preferential condisitons for businesses from Singapore to invest and boost trade cooperation with Vietnam. Vietnam also seeks Singaporean support in pomoting its exports

The same day, President Sang visited a PetroVietnam oil platform in Singapore, which is scheduled to be launched this October. He praised the group’s efforts in exploring for oil and gas, which will contribute significantly to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
