The NA Standing Committee opened its 26th session in Hanoi on December 15 with NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong in the chair.
Other NA Vice Chairmen and deputies heard reports from the NA Office, discussed the results of the sixth NA session and prepare for the seventh session scheduled for May 20 next year.
According to the report, the sixth session of the 12th NA was successful, finalising the addenda for legislation and supervision and deciding important national issues.
The NA adopted a resolution on the socio-economic development plan for next year with a focus on 12 major tasks and solutions to be implemented.
With the adoption of 7 laws and opinion contributed to 11 other laws, the legal system has been revamped to help to boost socio-economic development.
However, the NA Office said that the previous session still exposed some limitations as some draft laws were not properly prepared, there was a lack of supporting documents under regulations on legal documents and controversial issues were not responded to satisfactorily.
The same day, the NA Standing Committee heard the NA Committee for Legal Affairs reporting on the implementation of the NA resolution on the promulgation of legal documents from the Government, ministries, ministerial-level agencies, the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
