Lao Party General Secretary and State President Choummaly Sayasone have separately received Vietnamese Party Politburo members in Vientiane, promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
At a meeting on June 6, Choummaly and Truong Tan Sang, who is permanent member of the Secretariat of the Vietnamese Party Central Committee, and on a visit to Laos to attend a conference to review the project on compiling the works on the history of Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam special relations, stressed the significance of the project on history, politics, science and reality.
The project matches with the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples, they said, adding that it serves a basis for disseminating and educating, to raise political awareness and feelings of the two countries’ people, particularly the younger generations, and to enable international friends to better understand the nature of the Vietnam-Laos relationship.
They reaffirmed the consistent guidelines of the two Parties, States and people to resolutely maintain and promote the bilateral traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Earlier, Choummaly met with To Huy Rua, Head of the Commission for Organisation of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, who is on a visit to Laos from June 4-8.
The Lao leader spoke highly of the current visit to Laos by the Vietnamese delegation led by To Huy Rua, saying it would contribute to cooperation between the two Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commissions and the two countries.
He provided an overview of Lao socio-economic development and expressed his wish for further mutual assistance between the two commissions.
Mr Rua informed Sayasone about the outcomes of the talks between the two commissions, emphasizing enhancement of exchange visits, cooperation and human resource training, contributing to fostering friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
