Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Phuc Thanh has reaffirmed Vietnam's considerable respect for ties with Russia.

While receiving a high-level delegation of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Society, the senior legislator expressed his belief that traditional relations between the two countries will constantly develop.

He took this opportunity to express thanks to the Russian Government and people for their valuable support to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and current national construction.

In return, the guest pointed out that cooperation between Russia and Vietnam has strongly developed in recent times, especially in education and training, citing the example of the close relationship between the Moscow Academy of Economics and Laws and the Phuong Dong People-funded University of Vietnam.

The Russian delegation also expressed hopes that younger generations of the two countries will make important contributions to further developing bilateral ties.

The delegation was led by a Vice Chairman of the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Society.
