A seminar on the Indochina war and the late President Ho Chi Minh - one of the founders of solidarity movements against the colonialism in southern countries- was held in Paris on April 5.
The event was part of activities to mark the anniversary of anti-colonialism movements in Asia, Africa and Latin America, of which Vietnam was one of the initiators.

At the seminar, historian Alain Ruscio presented a paper on the struggle against the French colonialists in Vietnam and in Indochina, President Ho Chi Minh's search for ways of national salvation as well as the impact of the Indochina war on the then anti-colonialism movements in the above-mentioned continents.

Alain Ruscio said that from the first struggle against the French colonialists for national liberation to the second struggle against the American imperialists for national re-unification, Vietnam has become one of the centres for anti-old colonialism and anti-neo colonialism worldwide, and President Ho Chi Minh has become a typical figure of the revolutions.

He stressed that late President Ho Chi Minh was one of the founders of solidarity movements against colonialism in southern countries, contributing to the liberation of colonies in Asia , Africa and Latin America.
