The chief of Russia’s S.N. Fyodorov Eye Micro Surgery Complex has pledged transfer of technology and high quality services to Vietnam’s ophthalmological sector.

The Russian complex will also boost stronger cooperation with Vietnam and application of advanced ophthalmological technology on a larger scale, Prof. Dr. Khristo Takhchidi told State President Nguyen Minh Triet in Hanoi on April 27.

Takhchidi, who was on a five-day visit to Vietnam, highlighted the establishment of the Excimer Laser Department to treat refractive eye disorders at Vietnam-Russia Ophthalmology Hospital and the transfer of technology for treatment of children’s amblyopia.

The Hanoi-based ophthalmology hospital has provided medical check-ups and treatment for some 31,000 patients over the past two years.

“The Fyodorov Eye Micro-surgery Complex would do its best as a supplier of hi-tech ophthalmological services for Vietnamese people”, the Russian ophthalmologist said.

President Triet welcomed Khristo Takhchidi’s visit as a considerable contribution to stronger ties between the two countries’ ophthalmological sectors in particular and medical services in general.
