Vietnam and Russia have shared experiences in organizing legislative and people’s elected bodies at central and local levels during a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City on September 20.

The meeting was held between the Ho Chi Minh City NA Delegation and a Russian NA delegation led by Umakhanov Ilias-Magomet Salamovich, First Vice Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Council (Senate).

At the reception, Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Delegation Huynh Thanh Lap expressed Vietnam’s wish to strengthen cooperation with Russia in dealing with traffic congestion, urban flooding and environmental pollution during the process of socio-economic development.

For his part, Umakhanov said he believes that Russia and Vietnam have many opportunities to further their cooperation and experience sharing for the common benefit of the two countries as well as for the prosperity and development in the region and the world.

The Russian guests, who are in Vietnam to attend the 31st General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-31), visited HCM City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on September 19-20 to exchange legislative experiences and visit economic cooperation models between Vietnam and Russia.
