Sergey Kirienko, Director General of the Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), reaffirmed this at a reception given by Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang in Hanoi on March 30.

Speaking highly of Vietnamese students in Russia, Mirienko said they set good examples for students from around the world.

Regarding the nuclear power plant in Ninh Thuan province, he said that, after surveying, Russian experts have found a suitable location which meets all necessary requirements for the construction of the plant and are completing the dossier to submit to the Vietnamese Government by June.

ROSATOM is creating the best conditions to involve Vietnamese officials and cadres in the project, he said, expressing his confidence that Vietnam will have a force of well-qualified nuclear experts when the project is put into operation.

The Director General said ROSATOM will set up a working team to ensure the progress of the project.

ROSATOM will do its best to complete the project as scheduled and ensure its quality as expected by both sides, making it a model project built by Russia in Vietnam.

President Sang said he believes Russian experts, who are very experienced, will be able to fulfil their mission.

It is crucial to ensure the progress, quality and efficiency of the project to meet the increasing demand for electricity, said the State leader.

Mr Sang affirmed the significance of major projects in Vietnam such as Thang Long Bridge and VietsoPetro Joint Venture, which he said, demonstrate the friendship between the two nations. He was confident that Vietnam will soon have well-qualified nuclear experts, with the assistance of Russia.
