This relationship is truly of the strategic partnership and Russia will do its best to develop this partnership through mutually beneficial and effective projects and initiatives, said Mr Putin.

He said both Russian and Vietnamese people have treasured the long-standing and sincere friendship which has stood the test of time, especially through the common struggle for independence and sovereignty of Vietnam.

He expressed his belief that increasing cooperation between Russia and Vietnam will meet the vital interests of their people, contributing to peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
