Russian firms are therefore poised to hold wide-range discussions on co-operation with various municipal authorities, the Russian diplomat said.

Sirozhevich pledged his best efforts to further enhance relations between Russia and the southern city, adding that he hopes to continue gaining support from municipal leaders moving forward.

In response, Nen thanked the Russian side for supporting Ho Chi Minh City in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, voicing his hope that Sirozhevich will continue to promote co-operation between the city and Russian localities, a move which will ultimately contribute to deepening ties between the two sides.

Previously, Phan Van Mai, chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, had received Sirozhevich on March 13, during which Mai said he expects that during the course of his tenure, the Russian diplomat would follow the example of his predecessor by boosting co-operative ties between the city and Russian localities. Indeed, Mai is keen to see both sides act as a bridge to tighten bilateral co-operation moving forward.
