During the meeting, the two deputy PMs reviewed the development of bilateral ties since the two countries officially established diplomatic relations 15 years ago.
Deputy PM Hung spoke highly of the RoK government and businesses’ cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in trade, investment, tourism and labour.
The Vietnamese deputy PM also proposed that his counterpart and the RoK government continue to provide capital, technology and human resources training support for the Southeast Asian country. He invited RoK businesses to invest in Vietnam's key infrastructure projects in the fields of energy, service, health care, education and vocational training.
The RoK Deputy PM assured the guest that his government was committed to helping Vietnam in its modernization and industrialization process. He also suggested that the RoK and Vietnam cooperate in nuclear energy development.
Deputy PM Kwon O-Kyu accepted an invitation to visit Vietnam from his Vietnamese counterpart.
During the same day, Mr Hung met with RoK Minister of Trade and Energy Kim Young-joo and visited the RoK's leading steel group POSCO.
