On March 3, the Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong, presented the peace and friendship insignia to the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) Ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong Jae at the end of his term of office.

During his mission in Vietnam, Mr Jae has made a great contribution to promoting cooperation between ministries, sectors and localities from both countries, helping the RoK to become a leading investment partner and a major ODA donor for Vietnam.

“Bilateral cooperation in culture, science and technology, education, tourism and social contact have grown and flourished in recent years,” said the ambassador.

Mr Jae has put forward an initiative of launching a campaign to call on RoK people to select Ha Long Bay as one of the world’s natural wonders and recognise the Love Duets of Bac Ninh as mankind’s intangible cultural heritage.

After leaving for home, the Ambassador pledged to undertake many more practical activities to further strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries.
